The following table explains the contents of each field in a PsycINFO record's detailed display (not all fields are listed in every record).

Title

Title of the document

Translated Title

The English-language translation of the title of a document written in a non-English language.

Series Title

The series title of a book or book chapter's "parent" book. May consist of a non-English title. If present, appears in Book or Chapter records only./td>

Author(s)

The names of all individual persons responsible for creation of the document. Appears as last name followed by a first name or initial, middle name or initial, author role. If no role is present, the role may be assumed to be "author".

Institutional Author(s)

The names of all institutions responsible for creation of the document.

Address

The institutional affiliation of the first-listed person responsible for creation of the document.

Source

The source in which the article was published and other publication information.

Page Count

This field contains the page length, or total number of pages for a journal article. This is a separate and distinct field from the Pagination field.

Publisher

Contains publisher URL when available

Reviewed Item

Specifies the information on a book review in the PsycINFO record.

ISSN

The International Standard Serial Number assigned to the document.

ISBN

The International Standard Book Number assigned to the document.

Order Number

UMI Dissertation Order Number; if present will appear in Dissertation records only.

Document Link URL

The Uniform Resource Locator where an online version of the document, a full-text version of the document, or additional information, is available.

Digital Object Identifier

A permanent identification system for intellectual property found on the Internet. The identifier contains the naming convention registered to a DOI registration agency (currently, the International DOI Foundation).

Language

The language of the document.

Keywords

A concise, uncontrolled content description of the document currently formatted as keywords. May be thought of as an 'enhanced title'.

Abstract

A summary or abstract of the document; appears in all Journal Article, Report, Book and Chapter records, and Dissertation records from 1995 to present.

Subjects

Index terms from the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms which describe the primary and secondary focus of the document. Major descriptors are preceded by an asterisk (*).

Classification

Four-digit codes and their corresponding PsycINFO classifications that describe broad areas of the field of psychology.

Population

A standardized description of specific populations related to the content of the document.

Location

A standardized description of continents, regions, and country names related to the content of the document.

Age Group

A standardized description of specific population age groups related to the content of the document.

Tests & Measures

Contains the names of published tests and measures mentioned in the source document and whether it is appended to the source document.

Intended Audience

Identifies the intended audience of the document; appears in Book and Chapter records.

Conference

Contains the name and other information about a conference at which the content of the document was presented.

Conference Notes

Information about additional conferences at which the content of the document was presented, or information about a conference from which the content of the document was derived.

Notes

Miscellaneous information about the document, including reprint citations or information about forms of other previous publications of the content.

Methodology

Contains the Type/format of research study

Supplemental Data

Contains supplemental data or other information not found in the print source. This field is present in journal article records only.

Publication Type

Identifies the general type of the document such as Authored Book, Edited Book, Journal Article, etc. The first entry in this field consists of 'Media Type' which identifies the broad, physical medium of the document or item such as "Print (Paper)".

Document Type

The content type of the item being indexed

Book Type

Description of the book genre

Release Date

Date the record was released into the PsycINFO database in YYYYMMDD format.

Accession Number

A unique number used to identify each PsycINFO record.

Number of Citations in Source

The number of times this document was cited by other documents.
