Section 6: Citing information in essays
In your essays cite the books, articles and web sites you have consulted. All your citations in an essay must be in the same citation style.
For example, a reference could look like this in one style: Whiting, J. R., Billoski, T. V. & Jones, V. R., 1987. Herding instincts of Cretaceous duck-billed dinosaurs. Journal of Paleontology, 75, 112-132.
and this in another style:
Whiting JR, Billoski TV, Jones VR (1987) Herding instincts of Cretaceous duck-billed dinosaurs. Journal of Paleontology 75:112-132
Your course may have recommended a particular citation style. If not, you will find examples of citation styles and help in essay writing in
EndNoteWeb, a simplified Web version of the reference management software EndNote, makes it easier to produce bibliographies in a citation style.
