Uses GEOBASE Subject Index terms. View Scopus demo here. Web of Science Indexes a wide range of journal articles in the sciences, social sciences & humanities. Choose the General Search option to search for journal articles. Choose Cited reference search to find articles that have cited a previously published work. Geobase Indexes international journal articles, books, conferences, reports, maps and theses in physical and human geography, geology and geophysics, environmental studies, ecology, geomechanics and oceanography, international development. Geobase material is now available in Scopus. Academic Search Premier (EBSCO) and Academic OneFile (Thomson Gale) Both these databases cover a core collection of peer-reviewed journals in the sciences, social sciences & the humanities.
Databases for non-current materialJSTOR and Periodicals index online Neither of these databases index current journal literature. Date coverage varies depending on individual journal titles - some go back as far back as the late 18th century.
Databases for Australian topicsANR Index (2000-) & ANR Index Archive (1975-2000) ANR Index abstracts and links to full text for agriculture and natural resources including sustainable Australian agriculture, food, forestry and fisheries industries and the promotion of conservation and sustainable use of Australia's environment, water and natural resources. The Archive covers earlier material. APA-FT (Australian Public Affairs Information Service) and Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre Both these databases index Australian topics, mostly in the humanities and social sciences. AESIS Main database for Australian geoscience, minerals and petroleum literature for the period 1975-2001. From 2002 absorbed into GEOREF. Australian Heritage Bibliography Covers Australia's natural & cultural environment. EVA (Environmental Abstracts) Indexes journal articles from Australian & overseas sources that deal with the environment & related fields. FAMILY (Australian Family & Society Abstracts) Useful for issues such as demography, housing, urban development etc. MAIS (Multicultural Australia & Immigration Studies) All aspects of Australian immigration & multicultural issues. Science And Geography Education (SAGE)1990- A bibliographic database that indexes popular journals on a broad range of subjects: including agriculture, environmental science, ethics, geography, natural history, and sustainability. Is intended for a user group including secondary school students, lower tertiary students and the general public. SAMREF Contains references to reports and publications dealing with any aspect of South Australian geoscience, mining and exploration dating back to 1952. SAMREF is searchable through SARIG (South Australian Resources Information Geoserver). To locate it, select the Start SARIG option from the opening screen, then click on Information for the SAMREF database. TVNews August 2007- Indexes Australian television news, current affairs and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks with links to the digitised video content in a compressed format.

Biosis Previews A database of citations from international biological journals. Formerly Biological Abstracts. CAB Abstracts Includes agricultural economics, forestry, rural sociology, tourism. GEODOK It's value lies in the European geographical journals it indexes which are not included in Geobase. GeoRef Citations to international geoscience literature. NAL Catalog (AGRICOLA) Provides citations to agricultural literature. Sociological Abstracts Sociology, social policy and related disciplines. Can be cross-searched in Scopus. Water Resources Abstracts Index to the world's literature on water resources.
