Item Status or location - what does it mean

 

Item Status What does it mean How do I get the item
Available Item is on the shelf Collect the item in person or place an Intercampus request if the item is at a remote campus, eg. Roseworthy or Waite.
In process Item has arrived in the library but is not yet processed for loan Ask Service Enquiries to place a request.  The item will usually be available within 24 hours (Mon - Fri).
In storage Item is in a closed, staff area Place a request before 11am (Mon - Fri) and it should be available after midday.
Joint Store Item is in storage at Flinders Uni Place a request before midday (Mon - Fri) and item should be available for pickup in BSL by 3.30pm.  Note processing turnaround times vary for branch library pickups.
Just returned Item has been returned within the last 24 hours Items are reshelved within 24 hours of return.  Check the shelf where it should be and the reshelving trolley adjacent to the call number.  If the item has been very recently been returned ask at Service Enquiries.
Missing Item has been reported missing Missing items are searched for thoroughly and the item replaced after three weeks.  Ask Service Enquiries to place a request and you will be notified when the replacement arrives.
New books Item is on the new book display for one week Place a recall and you will be notified when the item is available.
Offsite storage Item is stored offsite Place an inter library loan request to obtain the same item from another library.  If it is essential for our item to be retrieved email ILL staff.
On loan Item is on loan If you need the item before the due date displayed place a recall request.
On order Item has been ordered but has not yet been returned Requests are generally only placed for the library user who has requested the purchase of the item.
Overdue Item is on loan and overdue Place a recall and you will be notified when the item is available.
Renewed Item is on loan and the loan has been renewed Place a recall and you will be notified when the item is available.
