Community borrowing

A person who is not a member of the University of Adelaide may join the Barr Smith Library as a Community borrower for an annual fee of $110 [including GST].  Register at Service Enquiries, 9am - 5pm Mon - Friday or on weekends (credit card payment only).

Loan conditions

Community borrowers may borrow twenty items, including two three hour Reserve items and two language kits at any time.  Books may be borrowed for four weeks.  An item on loan to you may be recalled if it is urgently required by another user.  The loan period will be reduced to seven days and you will be notified of the new due date by email.

Restrictions

• You may not borrow material from the Reference collection, journals and newspapers.
• You are not entitled to use student computer suites.
• General Internet access is not available.
• Remote access to licensed resources is not possible.

Renewals

You may renew the loan of a book from MyLibrary on or before the due date.  A loan may be renewed four times unless another user is waiting for the item.

Library Card

If you lose your Library Card, report the loss immediately to Service Enquiries (telephone 8313 5124). Any loans made with it before it is reported lost will be your responsibility.

Lost Library Cards may be replaced at a cost of $11 [includes GST].
