Library Services for Offshore Students
If you are currently enrolled in a University of Adelaide program, are studying outside of Australia and have a student or staff ID and password, then you will be able to make use of University of Adelaide Library resources and services as detailed below.
§ Online Help
We have interactive tutorials to help learn basic information research skills.
§ Accessing Electronic Resources
You can access electronic resources such as databases for journal and newspaper articles, online journals and books via the library website. You will need to use your university username and password to access these resources. Electronic resources can be found via:
- the Search box on the Library home page enables you to search for print and online resources including full-text journal and newspaper articles, and e-books
- the Resource Guides tab at the top of the home page and scroll down the list to find your subject area. These guides provide links and information on resources (books, journals, journal articles, primary sources etc).
- the Databases tab at the top of the home page will allow you to select appropriate journal article databases in a particular subject area.
§ Document Delivery
Although we can't send books overseas, we can send scanned copies of journal articles or chapters from books (subject to Australian copyright restrictions). There is no charge for scanned items.
If you wish to use this service you will need to register via email. Then to request material fill in the document delivery request form and choose Off-site Requester as the 'type'.
§ Contacting the Library
If you have any enquiries, please send us an email or use the online Ask a Librarian form. If you are contacting us about access problems, include details of the difficulty you are having, the resource you are trying to access and the time of access. Library staff will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible.
