Recalls
Standard loan periods are generous and will be adjusted based on user demand. This means that if other users require an item that you have on loan, your loan and all subsequent loan periods will be reduced to a shorter period to allow all users access to the item until all requests are satisfied.
If another user places a request on an item that you currently have out on loan, your item will be recalled and your loan period will be reduced. You will be notified of the new due date by email and SMS.
If an item has outstanding requests when you borrow it, your loan period will be one week and the loan period will remain one week until all requests have been filled.
If you no longer require an item that you have placed a request on, please use MyLibrary to cancel the request.
If the item you have on loan has been recalled and you require the item for a further loan period, please return the item to the library and place a request.
If you do not return your recalled item by the revised due date you will be blocked from borrowing, renewing and placing requests. If you do not return your recalled items within 1-2 weeks you will be invoiced for replacement costs, including a non-refundable $30 handling fee.
As the recalled loan period is brief, please ensure that all library items are returned to the library before going on holidays.
