Borrowing

Staff

Library membership for college staff is provided at the discretion of University Senior College. Eligible staff have the same membership as University of Adelaide staff.

Students

College students can borrow books from the Barr Smith Library's main collection and the Reserve and Multimedia collection. You can also borrow from the other University of Adelaide libraries but there may be some restrictions.

You can borrow as many as 30 books at a time. The usual loan period is 4 weeks but you may renew a loan up to 4 times if nobody is waiting to use the book. You may be asked to return an item earlier than its due date if someone else has requested it. Make sure you return your books on time - that way you'll avoid demerit points.

Please remember that if you lose or damage an item you will have to pay for the replacement costs, including a non-refundable handling fee of $30.

Finding the Barr Smith Library

The Library is centrally located on the University of Adelaide's North Terrace campus. Not sure where we are?  Here's a campus map to help you find your way.
