The Hon. Dr Lynn Arnold: The Vocal Minority meets the Silent Majority
The Friends of the University of Adelaide Library and the History Trust of South Australia invite you to a free public talk with The Hon. Dr Lynn Arnold on Thursday 7 August 2008 at 6.00 for 6.30pm.
Venue: Ira Raymond Exhibition Room, Barr Smith Library, University of Adelaide.
Dr Lynn Arnold commenced in the role of Chief Executive of Anglicare SA on 10 March 2008, after eleven years with World Vision International. In 2004 he was awarded the Order of Australia (AO) for his services to Australia through the South Australian Parliament as Premier, and internationally through development and humanitarian aid assistance. In 2001 he received the Centenary Medal for his services to the Australian community.
Dr Arnold was a leader of the Campaign for Peace in Vietnam of the 1960s and 1970s; his talk will deal with the topic of shifts in popular opinion and politics during the Vietnam War.
This event is in association with the exhibition Blue Jeans and Jungle Greens, which is on display at the History Trust Exhibition Gallery until August 2009.
