Study rooms
Study rooms are available in the Barr Smith Library for quiet study or discussion only.
Please note: the rooms are not soundproof. If you disturb other Library users you will be asked to leave.
- Who may use them ?
- Study room keys may be borrowed from Service Enquiries by holders of a current University of Adelaide ID Card or Library Card.
- For how long?
- Study rooms may be used for a maximum of three hours at a time.
Extensions of time will be given only if other study rooms are available for use.
Please return the key to a staff member at Service Enquiries to ensure that the loan is discharged immediately.
- Number of users
- The maximum number of users allowed in each study room at one time varies. Please check the number on the key or the notice on the door of the Study room.
Do not take additional chairs into a Study room.
- Late return of key
- Demerit points will accrue at the rate of five points per hour (or part of an hour) if you do not return your key to Service Enquiries after three hours.
- Unattended items
- Do not leave valuables in a Study room. Items left unattended in a Study room for more than 30 minutes will be removed and sent to Lost Property.
- Mobile telephones
- Mobile phones must not be used in Study rooms.
