Computers in the Library

Student computers

Student computer suites are located in the Barr Smith Library on:

level 1 north
level 2 north
level 2 north mezzanine area
level 3 north (24hr access)

Printers using the student print quota, are available in all areas.

Desktop applications

All student computers have these common applications loaded. Student computers in the Library also have these additional applications.

Public access computers

Public access computers are available in all libraries.
They provide access to most of the Library's licensed resources but not to ISP email nor to all Internet sites.
Full Office such as Word, Excel or Powerpoint is available.

Timeouts apply in the Barr Smith Library - 60min for level 3, 15min for public access PCs on levels 1 and 2.

Printing from public access PCs is only available using the Copycard printer on level 3 north.

IT student support in Hub Central

IT student support is available from Hub Central. Please enquire at a Hub Information Desk.
Help is available for:

Accessing the wireless network
Checking internet and print quotas
Saving data to a secure network location
Getting assistance with MS Office applications
Student printer problems
