Pacific Collection

The Pacific collection is an expanding collection of books and journals based on the library acquired in 1972 from Professor H. E. Maude. It covers the history, culture and literature of the Pacific islands of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia. There are also related manuscript collections, H.E. Maude's bookplatenotably those of H.E. and H.C. Maude and H.G.A. Hughes.

A more complete description is available electronically in the guide Journeys through Pacific history: a guide to the Pacific islands library and the papers of H.E. and H.C. Maude (1995). Please however note that it doesn't take into account additions since the time of publication.

Titles in the Pacific collection are identified in the Library catalogue by the location 'Special collections Pacific'.
