Loan Periods

All standard loan periods, 4-10 weeks, are dynamic and based on user demand.

If an item on loan to you becomes high use or is requested by another user your loan period will be reduced to one week.

If your loan period is reduced you will be notified by SMS and email of the new due date.

Loans will be automatically renewed up to to the maximum loan period unless items have been requested. Regular notices will be issued to assist you to manage your loans. An invoice will be issued for very overdue items.

Minor variations to borrowing conditions may apply in the branch libraries.

  • University Community
    Staff, students and alumni members

    DVDs, CDs, kits 10 weeks 60 weeks
    Bound journals 1 week 6 weeks
    Reserve 3 hours/overnight 6 hours

    Borrowing limits:

    • 50 standard loans
    • 2 Reserve
    • 2 language kits

    All University Community members are entitled to 50 standard Inter Library requests per year to support teaching and research activity.

  • Non-University
    Community, ulanz, reciprocal, institutional and year 12 students:

    Main collections 4 weeks 20 weeks
    DVDs, CDs, kits 4 weeks 20 weeks
    Reserve 3 hours/overnight 6 hours

    Borrowing limits:

    • 20 standard loans
    • 2 Reserve items
    • 2 language kits
