This page contains a small number of resources for the University of Adelaide course "Probability and Statistics II". To find out more about this course, please search for it on the Course Information Website
Counting Techniques
One of the topics in Probability and Statistics II involves learning various counting techniques. In Semester 2, 2012, the MLC gave a revision seminar for the course "Maths for Information Technology" on counting techniques (combinations, permutations, allocations etc). Revision of First-Year Statistics
This course has first-year statistics as assumed knowledge, so it might be a good idea to revise some of the things in the first year course Statistical Practice I.
Below is information from the study seminar given to Statistical Practice I students in Semester 1 2012. I talked about how to respond to exam questions concerning hypothesis tests, how to decide between paired and unpaired t-tests, the sorts of things I would put on a "cheat sheet" for Stat Prac I, and also how I decide what stats procedure goes with what situation.
