The School of Molecular and Biomedical Science was formed in June 2002 to coordinate and consolidate the University’s cutting edge and world-class research and teaching in Genetics, Biochemistry and Microbiology & Immunology. Approximately 400 people comprise the research, teaching and support staff, postgraduates and honours students of the School.

The Centre for Molecular Pathology (CMP)The Centre for Molecular Pathology (CMP) will be a collaborative initiative involving research groups located in the University of Adelaide Faculty of Sciences and SA Pathology. CMP will be a centre of excellence in molecular pathology research, globally recognised for its important contributions to a better understanding of the molecular basis of diseases and bacterial infections. |

Research Centre for Infectious Diseases (RCID)The RCID is bringing together established and emerging researchers with synergistic skills to accelerate basic research into bacterial infectious disease pathogenesis, and translate basic discoveries into improved health outcomes. The major research foci are bacterial pathogenesis and target discovery; vaccine development; novel anti-infectives and therapeutics. |
