Bioinformatics Search & Comparison Tools

NCBI Entrez ... the National Centre for Biotechnology Information Search and Retrieval system that integrates information from databases at NCBI. These databases include nucleotide sequences, protein sequences, macromolecular structures, whole genomes, and MEDLINE, through PubMed.

NCBI PubMed ... PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

NCBI Search ... the National Centre for Biotechnology Information Medline linked DNA and peptide sequences database searches.

FASTA ... FASTA comparison of DNA or Peptide sequence data.

BLAST ... BLAST comparative analysis of DNA or Peptide sequence data.

ANGIS ... Australian National Genomic Information Service

Bioinformatics Tools - a collection of Online molecular analysis tools.

FASTA Searches

FASTA searches allow fast and sensitive comparisons of nucleic acid or protein sequences against various sequence databases. FASTA is designed to answer the question: which entries in the database are similar to my sequence? For specific help, follow the links to the EMBL server at EBI or use this Help documentation link.

FASTA
Sequence homology submission forms at EBI (Huxton Outstation).

FASTA and TFASTA
at DNA Information and Stock Center, Japan.
