Summer Vacation Scholarships 2009/2010There are several organisations currently accepting applications for summer vacation scholarships that can support students in our School and/or affiliated institutions. These scholarships are offered to undergraduate students and provide opportunities to participate in research projects within the University, Hospitals, IMVS and other affiliated institutions. Projects are carried out over the summer vacation for a period of approximately 6 weeks. Successful applicants will be paid between $150-$200 per week for the duration of the scholarship. Any such scholarship offered to a student who will work in a laboratory within the School of Molecular & Biomedical Science or an affiliate laboratory will be topped up to the School rate of $200 per week for 6 weeks. School of Molecular & Biomedical Science Summer Vacation Scholarships 2009/2010The School of Molecular and Biomedical Sciences is offering Summer Vacation Research Scholarships to be taken up in the Disciplines of Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology & Immunology. These scholarships are valued at $200 per week for a 6 week period of study, to be taken up over the summer break. Separate scholarships are available for University of Adelaide students and students from other institutions. For University of Adelaide students, preference for School of Molecular & Biomedical Science Scholarships will be given to students who are currently enrolled in second year in the Discipline to which they are applying. Students who have held School of Molecular and Biomedical Science Summer Scholarships previously will not be eligible although they can still apply for the Adelaide Summer Research Scholarships for research to be carried out in any of the laboratories listed below. International students must show a current visa allowing work in Australia. The following labs have confirmed offers of vacation Scholarships (many of these labs have information about their research area available via the "Research" link on the left hand toolbar):
Students must discuss a project with potential supervisors and have the supervisor sign their application. Applications for School of Molecular and Biomedical Science Summer Scholarships should be submitted to Mrs Jennifer Peters, Learning and Teaching Centre, Molecular Life Sciences Reception, MLS Building on this form (applications close 4:00 PM, Friday 9 October 2009). Students may list up to 3 project preferences on a single School application form. Applications for scholarships offered by charities, the University and other Faculties and institutions, should be submitted separately on the appropriate forms. these scholarships may be held within the School of Molecular and Biomedical Science and its affiliate laboratories. |
