Antibody Production

The School's Research Support team provides a fast and competitively priced monoclonal and polyclonal antibody production service. Our monoclonal service uses high density in vitro tissue culturing techniques.

We can, depending on customer requirements, provide a complete monoclonal antibody production service that includes the following:

Phase 1 Immunization and assay development
Phase 2 Hybridoma fusion and/or screening
Phase 3 Single cell cloning

Alternatively we can provide a limited service tailored to your needs.

Polyclonal antibody production is also available in rabbits or rats. Our service can use a wide range of antigens from viral to mammalian proteins, purified and as well as those expressed in bacterial hosts.

Tissue Culture

Modern tissue/cell culture facilities are provided from a central support area on the 3rd floor of the Molecular Life Science building. Dedicated staff maintain the equipment and laboratory facilities. A localised store supplies tissue culture plastic ware. All liquid culture media, Foetal Calf Serum (FCS) stocks and other solutions are prepared under quality controlled conditions.

The unit maintains Departmental cell culture stocks. Mycoplasma testing facilities are also available.
