Research Component
Each student will be expected to complete a research project under direction of a scientific and industry mentor. The research project will include a business case development project, a research proposal, literature review, laboratory based independent research, thesis preparation, research seminar and oral examination.
The key elements of the research component are:
Literature Review
Reviewing scientific, patent and commercial literature to understand the status and competitors in a particular relevant area.
Review of "Home" Collaborations
Analysing and synthesising opportunities for research collaborations between "home institutions" and the University of Adelaide. This element will develop skills in analysis, opportunity identification and understanding the basis and timing of collaborations.
Research Proposal
Developing a case for investment in a genuine project opportunity including definition of competition, need, outcomes, budget, timelines and other resources.
Research Project
A nine month research based thesis, with thesis and oral presentation.
