Field Trips

Field Activities: Procedures & Protocols

The School of Molecular & Biomedical Science has a detailed Field Trip Form & Protocol which must be followed when any field activity is taken. This form assesses the risks associated with the trip and assists in identifying what safety precautions need to be met.

Safety

Some field trips may present more risks than others. The MBS Field Trip Form and Protocol will assist you in identifying the level of risk.

An appropriate First Aid kit must be taken on all field trips. These can be collected from the Health & Safety Officer.

Communications Equipment

Satellite Phones can be hired from the 4 Wheel Drive Rental Company.

Training

Some activities performed on Field Trips may require additional training. Those courses may include:

Remote and Isolated Work - if it is identified any participants will be working remotely.
4 Wheel Driving (External) - must be approved by the School Manager as this course is run by an external provider.
