Jellybeans at a Ciliate Party by Rethish Raghu is an SEM image of a single Colpoda sp. ciliated protozoan cell surrounded by many extracellular Listeria monocytogenes cells and co-culture debris. Image taken on the Philips XL30 Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope.

The in vitro Sun by Wai Khay Leong is a confocal image of human adult teeth stem cells which were differentiated in a tissue culture dish into nerve cells, in yellow, and glial cells in red. Image taken on the Leica SP5 Spectral Scanning Confocal Microscope.
