MyMedia - Managing lecture recordingsThe MyMedia system was developed by the University to enable the recording (capture), management and online distribution of lectures. It is comprised of two integrated applications. The capture system, available in Common Teaching Areas such as lecture theatres and tutorial rooms provides a desktop application to configure the audio visual display and initialise a recording. The MyMedia web application is used for managing your recorded sessions and uploading other media files for online publishing, such as to your MyUni courses.
MyMedia Capture SystemThe MyMedia lecture capture system enables lecturers to record and publish lectures to their MyUni course.
The system is available in Common Teaching Areas which have it installed. A shortcut can be found on the PC desktop in the teaching space.
When started, the MyMedia Capture desktop application will prompt for information about the session being recorded including the presenter, the course, venue, date and time.
MyMedia Web ApplicationThe MyMedia Web Application allows lecturers to manage their recorded sessions through a Web interface that can be accessed on any computer. It also enables lecturers to upload other media content (audio or video files) that can be published on the Web or in a MyUni course.
Application features include:
- View and download sessions
- Edit information about the sessions
- Manage copyright declarations
- Upload media files
- View usage reports
Note: Use of the MyMedia web application is not necessary to publish recordings to MyUni - refer to the following section.
MyMedia Playlist for MyUniA "Playlist" of lecture recordings can be added to a course in MyUni. By adding the Playlist to your course once, all subsequent sessions for that course will appear on the Playlist after they have been recorded. A Playlist can also be configured to display only lectures recorded by specified lecturers within the course.
