The MyMedia service is available to all University
of Adelaide staff. There are three main steps to making
recordings of your lectures available to students online:
Capturing
Your lectures can be captured by recording equipment
installed in lecture theatres or by your own portable recording device.
There is a table showing the current Recording
Facilities in Common Teaching Areas that will be
updated as upgrades occur.
Processing
Once you have captured your lecture, it needs to be processed and
put on the MyMedia server.
If you are using recording equipment installed in the
lecture theatre, there is an application installed on
the lecture theatre PC which is used to control the recording
of streaming audio and/or video.
You will need to enter details of the lecture, time,
presenter etc. into this application.
If you are using a hand held audio recorder you will need to connect
it to your computer, fill in an web form, and then upload
the recording to ITS for processing.
Once the recording has been processed, you will be notified by email. You will usually receive this email within a couple of hours and at most within 24 hours of uploading.
Delivering
In most cases the material will be delivered to students through MyUni. When the recording has been processed you will be sent an email with some text to cut and paste into your course in the appropriate area. This gives you full control over when and where to make the recordings available to students.
