The University has two statutory licences which give staff limited exemption from the general copyright law because of the University's status as an "educational institution".
The first statutory licence is given to educational institutions under Part VA of the Act and permits the reproduction and communication of audio-visual material from free-to-air and pay television, radio, satellite or cable. The Part VA statutory licence with Screenrights only applies to material "off air". You may not copy or communicate commercially hired or purchased film, audio or CDs unless you have permission from the copyright owner.
The second statutory licence is covered under Part VB of the Act and enables the reproduction and communication of print material (including digital material online).
In order to rely on the statutory licences, staff must place a copyright warning notice on all copyright material reproduced and communicated online. Please note that the Part VA copyright warning notice will be automatically attached to all recordings used through MyUni.
Please ensure you are fully aware of policies regarding the use of copyright materials by reading the copyright information page here: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/copyright |
