Podcasting Educational Conferences

In October 2005 Online Learning's Learning Designer, Allan Carrington, was invited by EDUCAUSE to be part of the first podcasting team to record and publish podcasts at their national conference in Orlando Florida. Podcasting interviews with participants from an educational conference was brand new and getting their reflections published promptly at the time of the conference was a bold initiative.

Much was learned from this "experiment" and out of it has grown a desire to see good learning objects produced for those unable to attend such conferences in the future. Allan's interest in using podcasting to distribute the knowledge shared at conferences, other than through the traditional published texts, has led to the development of a Model for Podcasting at Educational Conferences.
