Submitting a Turnitin Assignment as a Student

This guide is designed to assist students with submitting a document into Turnitin within MyUni. The guide assumes that the course instructor has set up the Turnitin assignment with a default configuration. Turnitin assignments with a default configuration allows the student to re-submit as many times as they choose up until the assignment's due date.

1. Navigate to the Turnitin assignment then select View/Complete. The Turnitin assignment in this example is located within the Assignments content area.

2.The next screen display's a user agreement if it is the first time the user has accessed the Turnitin system within MyUni. Read the agreement, specify whether you are older or younger than 13 then select agree -- continue. If you choose to disagree with the user agreement you will be returned to the course window and you will not be able to complete the Turnitin exercise.

3. The first time a user accesses Turnitin a System Requirements Compatibility Check window appears. Observe the warnings and use another browser/ follow advice if errors are shown. If there are green ticks for all components then select Continue to Dashboard.
Note: If you don't want the compatibility check window to display each time select "Do not run system check for this machine in the future".

4. Observe the Turnitin assignment start, due and post dates. The status of the assignment should also be noted before selecting Submit.

5. Ensure that single file upload is selected and observe how the first and last name fields are auto populated. Provide a submission title.
6 Observe the requirements for a single file upload then select Browse.
7. Select Upload.

8. A preview is generated for the submission. Select Submit or return to upload page.

9. The turnitin assignment submission is complete. Select go to portfolio to return to the Turnitin submission box.

10. Select Show details to examine the status of the assignment and/or display the originality report generated for the submission.
Note if the assignment has been set up to allow resubmissions before the due date, a resubmit button will be displayed to allow for that functionality.
