How do I make my reference(s) available if it is multiple parts?

This lesson will show you how to activate and add your reference(s) when they are in multiple parts. Reference(s) in parts usually happens because of the file size being larger than 2 MB which can cause download difficulties for people with slow Internet connections. This example starts from the Online Content Search Screen.

Use a string of keywords to find your reference

(1) Use a string of keywords from your reference and
(2) Press Search button
Please Note: If search results are not acccurate enough, try a search using an extact string from your reference using quotes e.g. "Interpretation architecture design"

Locate and activate your reference(s) from the search results

(1) Locate your reference and
(2) click on the "Activate or View Details" link

Make your reference(s) selection - ONE PART AT A TIME

(1) Check the box next to the first part of your reference
(2) Press the Activate and Add button

Check your activation and adjust "make live" dates if desired

(1) Check carefully here to ensure the correct part of your reference is activated
(2) Adjust dates to the actual time the resources will be needed
(3) Press Activate and Add button

Modifing Course Content

(1) Do not use the "Update" and "Modify" buttons. They are for use at a later stage rollout of the Online Content Database. Their functionality has been removed until that time.
(2) Teaching Tip: Add to the title indication that it is in parts to help the students.
(3) Description: Here you can modify the citation description should you desire. Please be careful of the HTML coding
(4) IMPORTANT: Check that the file here is correct.
(5) Options: One of the benefits of Online Content is it manages content visibility for you. Set your "make live" dates accurately in the previous step and the Online Content database will automatically with-hold access until the date you require. So leave the content visible setting at the default of "Yes".
(6) These availability dates are set by the previous step and there is no need to change them.
(7) Submit Button: Press when ready.

OK Content Receipt

(1) Note the addition of an indication of the number of parts in the reference
(2) Carefully check you have the correct reference part and
(3) Press OK button

FOR ANOTHER PART: Repeat the process

Choose Online Content and press GO button
