A sequel to Superheroes: Golden Vengeance, this photographic comic strip by Chris Herzfeld is on display on level 3 Hub until 31 October 2016 during Barr Smith Library hours.

Superheroes: Golden Vengeance and its sequel Superheroes: Toxic Debris are Parallax Graphic collaborations and form a collection focused on heroes.

The work analogises good vs evil and the archetype of heroes, and brings to the fore the daily bombardment of imagery and the interplay between sacred stories and crass consumerism in modern culture.

When fear becomes truth, reason is abandoned.

Reeling from the wild allegations of a group of teenage girls, a small god-fearing Puritan community is hit by a wave of uncontrollable social paranoia. The existence of witches rapidly becomes a real belief and when farmer's wife Elizabeth Proctor is arrested, it seems the madness must surely stop.

But with hysteria waging, the answers must be sought as to whether the girls' diabolical possession is a malicious deceit, or whether the devil really is afoot. Who will have the courage to look the devil in the eye and face the truth alone?

Set against the backdrop of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692/92, Arthur Miller's powerful drama is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of contemporary society and is considered to be one of America's finest works, winning the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play.

Biofortification is the process of using conventional plant breeding techniques to increase the density of critical vitamins and minerals in food crops, sufficient to impact human health and nutrition.

Dr Howarth Bouis, the Director and Founder of HarvestPlus, is a 2016 Laureate of the World Food Prize for his pioneering work to end global hunger and malnutrition by developing micronutrient-rich crops through biofortification.

Known as the "Nobel Prize for Agriculture and Nutrition," the World Food Prize recognizes individuals who have improved the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.

The Waite Research Institute is honoured to be hosting Dr Bouis when he visits Australia in August. The three "Fathers of Biofortification" (and founders of HarvestPlus c1993) will be present: Dr Howdy Bouis, Professor Ross Welch and Professor Robin Graham.
