Friday, 28 March 2008 The University of Adelaide has welcomed today's announcement of the 1000 delegates to the Australia 2020 Summit, which include some of the University's top academics in health and the arts. "The delegates to the 2020 Summit will play a key role in helping to shape the future of Australia across a broad range of areas, and we are delighted that a number of University of Adelaide academics with national and international reputations have been chosen to attend the Summit," says the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor James McWha. "Their selection as delegates to the Summit is a reflection of their level of expertise, and I have every confidence that they will make a unique contribution to the Summit proceedings." The Australia 2020 Summit delegates and their Summit areas include:
Professor Christian Gericke - Professor of Public Health Policy, Discipline of Public Health, University of Adelaide Options for the future of Indigenous Australia Dr Veronica Arbon - Senior Research Fellow, Yaitya Purruna Indigenous Health Unit, Discipline of General Practice, University of Adelaide Towards a creative Australia Professor John Coetzee - Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Honorary Visiting Research Fellow, Discipline of English, University of Adelaide Today's announcement of the Australia 2020 Summit delegates follows the earlier announcement this week of the delegates to the Youth Summit in Canberra. Those delegates include University of Adelaide student Mohammad Al-Khafaji, who is studying for a Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering). |
