Thursday, 21 October 2004 One of the world's most prominent writers and thinkers on the US presidency will discuss the upcoming US election tomorrow (Friday) in a free public lecture at the University of Adelaide. Professor George C. Edwards III, Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Texas A&M University, will address "Perspectives on the 2004 US Presidential Election" from 3:30pm in the Napier Building at the University of Adelaide. The event is free and is open to the media and public. Professor Edwards is also the George and Julia Blucher Jordan Chair in Presidential Studies in the Bush School at the same university. He was the founder and between 1991 and 2001 the Director of The Centre for Presidential Studies in the Bush School. He has published, written or edited 19 books on American politics and is one of the most prominent writers and thinkers on the US Presidency. In 2005-2006 he will hold the Olin Chair at the University of Oxford. The event is being co-sponsored by the Australian Institute of International Affairs (SA Branch) and the Politics Discipline, University of Adelaide.
