Wednesday, 3 October 2001 Three hundred of South Australia's brightest Year 12 students will gather in Bonython Hall at Adelaide University on Thursday 4 October (9am) for a Future Leaders' Forum. Organised by the Future Leaders network in conjunction with Adelaide University, the forum aims to expose students to leadership initiatives, new concepts and inspiring role models. Participating students have been nominated by state, Catholic and independent schools across South Australia, based on leadership potential. The forum will enable them to focus on leadership skills and networks and learn first hand about the success of young leaders in a variety of areas. It will also challenge them to explore the value and importance of their own leadership ideas and roles and visions for leadership initiatives for Australia in the 21st century. Students will hear from nine speakers who have excelled in their fields. They include Ms Karen Bryant, Manager of Creative Programs at Adelaide Festival Centre, and Mr Simon Hannaford, a partner in the law firm Fisher Jeffries. The students will also participate in Thinking about Australia, a project that aims to encourage debate about important issues for Australia this century. Students and speakers will be available for interview. |
