Friday, 1 May 2009 The University of Adelaide will showcase its leadership in entrepreneurship, commercialisation and innovation at the Australian Innovation Festival. The University's Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC) has organised five events to publicise new research and fields of interest in the entrepreneurial world. The series of seminars, forums and presentations, spanning the month of May, will address new issues arising within the field of entrepreneurship like the legal implications of digital identity, social development and ways of ensuring sustainability. The five events are:
"Our events enable experts to engage with the public on what is emerging in the areas of entrepreneurship, project management and commercialisation from expert sources. For example, digital identity is a fairly new and exciting research area and Clare Sullivan will detail the many implications this has for the legal and business worlds," said Dr Allan O'Connor, the Academic Director for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at ECIC. The Australian Innovation Festival (26 April-30 May) is a national initiative which promotes innovative and entrepreneurial abilities through emphasis on excellence in research, development and commercialisation. "The Australian Innovation Festival is a showcasing event where like-minded people talk around similar topics. ECIC's events will be covering important and serious issues," said Dr O'Connor. "Participants will be able to get new insights about the way that knowledge is emerging. It is important to be prepared and know where innovation will intercept with change and think about sustainability as well. This will affect their ventures." The University of Adelaide's ECIC encourages innovation with social and economic benefit by offering award and customised education programs in entrepreneurship, innovation, commercialisation and project management. |
