New Australian-European double degrees in business offered through grant

Friday, 24 January 2014

Postgraduate business students at The University of Adelaide and The University of Western Australia can complete a second year of study in Europe while earning a second master's degree.

The new double degrees, which include generous scholarships for successful applicants, will be offered with the support of $1 million in funding from the Australian Government and European Commission.

After completing one year of study in Australia, students will complete a second year at EM Strasbourg Business School in France, Corvinus University in Hungary or Ca'Foscari University in Italy.

In addition, students will complete a three-month work placement and participate in intensive joint sessions with institutions such as the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

The University of Adelaide's Executive Dean of the Faculty of the Professions, Professor Christopher Findlay, welcomes the initiative.

"Our goal is to build in our students the capability of taking a global view; this initiative embodies that ambition and will be a flagship program for us," says Professor Findlay.

Students who successfully complete the program will receive a Master of International Business from The University of Adelaide or a Master of Commerce from The University of Western Australia, and a master's degree in international business from their chosen European university.
