Inaugural Lecture examines decision making in petroleum industry

Thursday, 29 April 2004

Are good decisions consistently being made in the petroleum and gas industry?

Professor Reidar Bratvold from the University of Adelaide's School of Petroleum Engineering and Management will examine this question today as part of the University's free Inaugural Lecture series.

These free public lectures are open to all and showcase recently-appointed professors to the University speaking about their area of expertise.

Professor Bratvold's lecture, entitled "Would you know a good decision if you saw one - psychological and judgemental aspects in decision-making in the petroleum industry", will be held from 1.10pm in the Council Room, Level 7, Wills Building.

In his lecture, he will explore how petroleum companies make and implement decisions and also ways they could improve their decision-making process.

Lectures in the Inaugural Lecture series take place each Thursday from April 22 until June 10 at 1.10pm in the Council Room, Wills Building, North Terrace. Entry is free, and both media and the public are welcome.
