The public is invited to attend a symposium on the regulation of underage male circumcision presented by the University of Adelaide's postgraduate Comparative Law Class on 6 April 2013. The symposium will address whether circumcision of underage boys should be regulated, as suggested by the Tasmania Law Reform Institute. The presentations at this symposium will place the practice of male circumcision in a global context, considering it from an Australian, continental European, African and Asian perspective. The two keynote speakers, Anne Hewitt [1] and David Caruso [2], are both lecturers at the University of Adelaide's Law School [3]. Ms Hewitt conducts ongoing research into restrictions of religious and cultural freedoms, and Mr Caruso teaches and researches criminal law. Further presentations will be delivered by postgraduate law students from Germany, Australia, Sierra Leone and China.
