Research

The OEH Laboratory is active in research. We have carried out a variety of studies in small, medium and large organisations.

Industry-wide studies in healthcare, pest control, manufacturing and mining industries. Examples of projects include:

  • Isocyanates in vehicle repair, foam making and community settings
  • Glutaraldehyde and anaesthetic gases in hospitals
  • Dusts in podiatry
  • Lead, asbestos, fine particles, silica, PCBs, nitrogen dioxide, woodsmoke and PAH exposure in community settings
  • Wood dust and noise in furniture manufacture
  • Chlorpyrifos, organochlorines and organophosphates in pest control
  • Evaluation of respiratory protection programs
  • In vitro toxicology studies, assessing reactivity of mineral dusts
  • Photometry in the workplace
  • Hazardous materials incidents management
