Graduate Industry Placements 

$30,000 Tax Free Masters Scholarship

We have projects available in 2008 with innovative industries wishing to link graduates to promote innovation, research and knowledge transfer to create pathways to future employment.

Are you a postgraduate student that needs industry experience to further your career whilst being paid a scholarship?

You may be interested in the following projects:

The Graduate Industry Placements program places a graduate under a company sponsored scholarship, to carry out a project activity while studying for an appropriate Masters Degree.

The agreement covers a period of 12 months and links industry with the University through the activities of the student. Intakes are made in the 1st semester (Jan/Feb) and the 2nd semester (June/July). A scholarship is paid to the student fortnightly.

Masters by Research and/or Coursework Scholarship Package

A Masters by research and/or coursework scholarship package of up to $30,000 is available to postgraduates in the areas of:

  • Computer Science
  • Mathematics
  • Electronic and Electrical Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Psychology
  • Chemical Engineering

The graduate is supported by an academic supervisor and has access to University resources.

Graduate Industry Placements projects may be arranged in the following areas:

  • Research and Development
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Technical Studies
  • Information Technology Development
  • Product Development
  • Process Development
  • Problem Solving
  • Marketing Surveys/Plans
  • Strategic and Business Planning
  • Industrial Design

The project must be sufficiently challenging, fit into the time frame and be a genuine company requirement to ensure a useful outcome for all the participants. The all up cost to a company for the services of the student is $36,000 GST inclusive.

The sponsoring company retains commercial rights for the results of the project unless other agreements are specifically made. Confidentiality agreements will be signed when appropriate.
