Division of University Operations

The vision of the University of Adelaide is to be recognised internationally as a great research university and an Australian leader in research and teaching excellence, committed to the positive impact we can have on the lives of our students, staff and alumni.

To realise our aspirations and growth targets, the University needs people, services and resources that can support a significant increase in research and teaching activities. The mission of the Division of University Operations is to deliver these to the University.

The Division's strategic programs cut across its portfolio areas and span all areas of the University.

Finance & Procurement Services

The new Finance & Procurement Services structure provides quality accounting services; enhanced procurement services; financial analysis and strategy; core services such as tax and compliance, budget reporting and short and long term business planning.

The finance and procurement operating model supports the strategic goals of the University through the delivery of consistent, coordinated and consolidated services to the end user.

Legal & Risk

Legal & Risk assists University personnel to manage their legal, compliance, risk and insurance responsibilities and to empower those individuals to confidently pursue the University's objectives. The team provides independent, objective and timely advice on legal matters including copyright and freedom of information and assists with the drafting of agreements, policy review, dispute resolution and fraud control.

Legal & Risk also administers the University's insurance program and advises on general and travel insurance matters.

Marketing & Communications

Marketing & Communications is responsible for the promotion and protection of the University's brand through delivering high quality and effective marketing and communications.

The role of the branch is threefold: brand custodians, strategic partners, and service providers.

Human Resources

Human Resources provides recruitment, superannuation and promotions support and advice to the University community and manages payroll, staff records, and workforce planning.

Human Resources also encompasses the Health, Safety and Wellbeing unit, with responsibility for OHS programs and training.

Technology Services

Technology Services provides information and communications technology services and support to the University of Adelaide community ranging from email accounts to online learning.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure manages the University’s property portfolio and supports its built environment through planning, project management and maintenance services.

Infrastructure also includes the Office of Sustainability (including Ecoversity).

Planning & Analytics

The Planning and Analytics team supports strategic and operational planning, performance reporting and survey/data management within the University.

The role includes helping develop the University's Strategic, Operational and Business Plans plus monitoring their implementation performance.
