Health Promotion Short Course
Courses are regularly held.  The Monash University Short Course in Health Promotion is provided to meet the growing demand for health promotion in workplaces, communities and organisations. The courses are structured to assist people to learn about the processes of health promotion and to develop a greater understanding of health promotion theory and practice.  Participants learn core skills to increase the success of health promotion practices and strategies, and have opportunities to network and share experiences with people with similar interests.

Dental Assisting

This course is for people who are working as dental assistants and want to work in the field of oral health education. You will learn how to implement oral health education programs and how to train small groups and make presentations. You will assist in the administration of dental practice and assist during oral health care procedures and learn how to maintain infection control and how to apply basic first aid.

 

University of Sydney: Graduate-level courses in Indigenous HealthThe University of Sydney

The School of Public Health at the University of Sydney is currently accepting applications for the one-year Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health Promotion, the one-year Graduate Diploma program in Indigenous Health (Substance Use) or the two-year Master of Indigenous Health (Substance Use).
These courses aim to build clinical, public health and academic capacity of Indigenous health professionals. The course content and structure designed in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals

James Cook University: Graduate Certificate in Primary Health Care Research
James Cook University’s Faculty of Medicine, Health & Molecular Sciences is offering a Graduate Certificate in Primary Health Care Research.
Designed for busy practitioners, this course can be studied externally; part time over two to four years. Payment of all or part of the tuition fees may be deferred through HECS-HELP.  The course will equip you to undertake research and evaluation in primary health care settings; covering qualitative and quantitative methodology, ethical and practical issues, critical appraisal and evidence based practice.  You will also gain skills in effective proposal and grant writing for research funding as well as research dissemination through publications, conferences, the media and policy makers.  This unique course gives you the option to engage in basic research and evaluation in your workplace or move to undertake higher level qualifications such as a research masters or PhD.
