Healthy Smiles - Training Package
The 'Healthy Smiles - Oral Health and Fluoride Varnish Information for Health Professionals' training package has been designed to provide non-oral health professionals with oral health background information, knowledge about early childhood caries as well as prevention and management of oral disease. The manual also outlines information and procedures for registered nurses and registered Aboriginal Health Workers to apply fluoride varnish in primary health care settings of the Northern Territory. This package has been prepared to meet the requirements of Community Services Training Package HLTOHC408A Apply Fluoride Varnish.
Clean Teeth for Life DVD
The Clean Teeth for Life DVD focuses on the oral health of Indigenous children and babies. It consists of two educational DVDs (one looping for use in a waiting area and one for use in a computer). The DVD follows a family's visit to a dental therapist and provides information about good oral health and a demonstration on brushing children's and babies' teeth. The resource is useful for schools, health clinics, Aboriginal Health Workers, and community groups.
"Strong Teeth" CDROM
Strong Teeth is an interactive computer CD encouraging young adults to practise good oral health. The Strong Teeth CD is available in English and two Central Australian Indigenous languages - Arrernte and Warlpiri.
The Strong Teeth interactive CDROM was funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and developed by the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health from University of Adelaide and the Northern Territory Department of Health and Community Services.
The Strong Teeth interactive CD was a collaborated effort by A/Prof Kaye Roberts-Thomson (ARCPOH), Dr Bruce Simmons (DHCS) and Christopher Brocklebank from isee-ilearn.com multilingual multimedia.
