2005 OSA Cup
The tournament started took place at Blackfriars Soccer Fields on
the 15th of October. 10 teams took part. Each match ran for 20 minutes
with 5 minutes break. There were total of 20 group stage matches with 2
groups (5 teams each). Due to the limited number of fields this year, each
team had to wait for a certain amount of time before another game, however
this gave them ample time to have their lunch. The matches went on till
3.00pm before the semi-final. The finals went well. Both teams had a very
competitive challenge in the final with excellent soccer skills, good teamwork
and wonderful fighting spirit to be the champion on display. In the end,
the Red Devils won the match against the ALFC with 3 goals to 1, with a
goal scored by the new golden-boot winner of 2005. There was a prize giving
ceremony after the final match. The winners and 1st runners up were given
a cup and medals. There was a golden-boot prize as well. Without all the
effort of the Activities Committee, volunteers and other council members,
the event wouldn't have been the success that it was.
