When you submitted your SATAC application earlier in the year, you may have had little idea as to what your year 12 or STAT results would be. You also may have expected that you would not achieve competitive results, and structured your preferences around this.
However, now that you know for sure just how well you did, it may be time to re-evaluate your choices. For example, if you avoided putting your dream course as your first preference but your ATAR, IB or STAT score is close to the previous year's cut-off score, consider moving that dream course to first preference.
Remember: SATAC will only give you one offer to the highest preference for which you are eligible and your ATAR is competitive. So – your preferences must be in the order you want to study them, or you may miss out!
Don't forget that you may be eligible for Bonus Points under the Fairway Access scheme or Fairway Equity Scheme or for subjects you studied in year 12, such as Specialist Maths (or equivalent) or a Language Other Than English. Bonus Points can make a real difference to your ATAR, so please contact us to discuss your options.
