The main offer round takes place on Thursday 17 January 2013 from 6.00 pm. Offers will be available on UniWeb from this time; letters will be posted on the same day.
It is vital that you respond to your offer. It is possible that your offer will lapse if you do not respond to it, so make sure that you let SATAC know what you plan to do. There are six response options available to you (there is handy information on page 58 of the SATAC guide), and you need to understand the implications of each one before responding.
If you are unsure about how you would like to respond, or if you have any questions, please cointact our University Contact Centre as soon as possible for assistance.
If you are an international student who has completed year 12 in Australia, you will receive an offer for every preference for which you meet the requirements and are competitive. Therefore, the order of preferences is not as important as for local students. Please make sure your email address is up-to-date as the University will contact you via email.
If you are a local student, the order of your preferences is vital, as you can only receive one offer at a time. This is based on your preferences and your academic performance, along with selection criteria specific to each program.
You should always put your 'dream' program down as your first preference when submitting your SATAC application. Sometimes, people are discouraged by the fact that they may not get a high enough score for direct entry into their preferred program.
There are six available preferences in the SATAC system – use them. SATAC will always offer you the highest preference for which you are eligible and competitive. Eligibility varies from program to program, so be sure to visit the Degree Finder website for detailed information.
It is still possible to change your preferences in light of your results and the offer round. Before you change your preferences, make sure you call the University Contact Centre to discuss your options.
You will need to log on to the SATAC website to change your preferences. Be sure to have the relevant SATAC codes handy. Make sure that you have thoroughly investigated your options and understand the implications if you decide to change your preferences.
Don't forget that you may be eligible for Bonus Points under the Fairway Access Scheme or Fairwary Equity Scheme or for subjects you studied in year 12, such as Specialist Maths (or equivalent) and a Language Other Than English. Bonus Points can make a real difference to your ATAR. If you're unsure whether Bonus Points that you may be eligible for have been added to your score please contact the University Contact Centre.
