Medicine & Dentistry

Entry into the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is competitive, with applicants from South Australia, interstate and overseas.

The Admissions Officer for the Faculty of Health Sciences has prepared a presentation to assist applicants for these two programs – view the video for advice on what to do if you don't get in on your first try – there are many other related areas that you can study in Health Sciences and Sciences. Check  Degree Finder or contact us via the Health Sciences website to find out more. Our Undergraduate Admissions Guide can be found here.

Psychology

Entry into the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) program is also highly competitive. However, there are many other avenues that allow you to study a major in Psychology and undertake an further study, dependent on your university grades. Please visit the School of Psychology website for details on the programs that allow you to major in Psychology, including the Bachelor of Psychological Science.

TAFE SA Pathways

TAFE SA courses, from Cert IV and above, are also possible pathways into Health Science degrees and can be the perfect stepping stone between school and university. The University currently has more than 200 TAFE Credit Transfer Pathways and even more entry pathways and these are being added to regularly. Three degrees in Health Sciences currently have TAFE Credit pathways - the Bachelor of Health Sciences, the Bachelor of Nursing and the Bachelor of Oral Health, where credit for relevant studies undertaken at TAFE can be awarded; for example, an Advanced Diploma of Oral Health will get you 34 units of credit in a Bachelor of Oral Health.
