Alternative Pathways
Professions
Business, Economics & Finance
Bachelor of Economics
Applicants who do not receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Economics might like to consider applying for a Bachelor of Arts. It is possible to study Economics as a 'major' and apply for a transfer into the Bachelor of Economics.
Bachelor of Commerce
Applicants who do not receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Commerce might like to consider applying for a Bachelor of Finance or the Bachelor of Economics. These two programs shares similar Level 1 courses with the Bachelor of Commerce (except Accounting). If you achieve a minimum of a credit average in your Level 1 studies, you may be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of Commerce at Level 2.
Law
Applicants who do not receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Laws might like to consider applying for a Bachelor of Arts, Commerce, Economics or Finance degree. Complete a year of one of these degrees and then apply for a transfer into the Law program. Students usually need just above a Credit average to transfer. They can choose to continue on to complete the double degree, or transfer to the single degree.
Please visit the Faculty of the Professions website for further information about the Faculty or the Degree Finder website for more detailed program information.
TAFE SA Pathways
TAFE SA courses, from Cert IV and above, are also a possible pathway into some Professions Degrees and can be the perfect stepping stone between school and university. The University currently has more than 200 TAFE Credit Transfer Pathways and many more Entry Pathways on offer and these are being added to regularly. Three Professions degrees have TAFE Credit Pathways - Commerce, Design Studies and Law - where credit for relevant studies undertaken at TAFE can be awarded; for example an Advanced Diploma of Marketing will gain 1.5 years of credit into a Bachelor of Commerce (International Business) and (Management).
