Applicants who do not receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Economics might like to consider applying for a Bachelor of Arts. It is possible to study Economics as a major and apply for a transfer into the Bachelor of Economics. Applicants who do not receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Commerce might like to consider applying for a Bachelor of Finance or the Bachelor of Economics. These two programs share similar Level 1 courses with the Bachelor of Commerce (except Accounting). If you achieve a minimum of a credit average in your Level 1 studies, you may be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of Commerce at Level 2.
Applicants who do not receive an offer for a place in the Bachelor of Laws might also like to consider applying for a Bachelor of Arts, Commerce, Economics or Finance. Complete a year of one of these degrees and then apply for a transfer into the Law program. Students usually need just above a Credit average to transfer. They can choose to continue on to complete the double degree, or transfer to the single degree.
If you have successfully completed an AQF Certificate IV or higher, you may be eligible for both entry and credit into defined bachelor degrees.
A TAFE/VET pathway can provide a helpful stepping stone into university study, facilitating a smooth transition into higher education.
The University of Adelaide, in partnership with TAFE SA, has more than 250 credit pathways available. A number of degrees offered by the Faculty of the Professions offer credit pathways. For example, a graduate holding an Advanced Diploma of Marketing will be guaranteed 18 months credit into a Bachelor of Commerce, considerably reducing the remaining study load required to complete the degree.
