Intensive Courses
Intensive courses begin in January and run twice weekly for 10 weeks providing 60 hours of instruction. The course is designed for beginners who wish to learn a language in a short period of time for business, personal interest or travel.  Students should be prepared to commit to an intensive study program during these ten weeks, with equivalent home and classroom hours.

The teaching methodology enables students to retain grammar and vocabulary and develop communication skills at a greater rate than in equivalent courses of longer duration. Upon completion, students become eligible to enrol directly into the second level of the year-long language program that begins in the week commencing in March.

Students may elect to take an optional Assessment of Competency and will be awarded a Certificate of Competency upon achieving the required standard.

Full Year Courses
Professional and Continuing Education's full year language program offers a wide range of languages in classes from beginner to advanced levels. Classes begin in March and run weekly for 30 weeks in 2 hour sessions.

Please note: Entry to full year courses is possible at any time of the year. PCE's course advisers are happy to assist students in ascertaining suitability to a particular class.

Introductory Courses
Introductory courses start in July and run weekly for 10 weeks. Suitable for complete beginners, in these ‘taster' courses you'll experience a practical introduction to the language of your choice. Ideal for travellers, as well as when communicating for business or pleasure, these practical courses will give you the confidence to interact in basic social situations and, importantly, will also enhance your socio-cultural understanding and survival skills for the countries in which your language is used.
