The 2005 AUPGSA Staff Awards were presented in the Equinox
function room, Union House. The Award winners (and the runners-up) were personally congratulated by the Vice-Chancellor,
Professor James McWha; and the Dean of Graduate Studies, Professor Richard
Russell. All award nominees were personally awarded certificates by AUPGSA President Felicity Rai.
The Supervisor Award was won by Associate Professor Terry Williamson, from the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture & Urban Design. The runner-up for this award was Professor Lee Parker from the School of Commerce.
Dr Georges Baume won the highly contested Lecturer Award from the Adelaide Graduate School of Business. The runner-up was Mr David Knight from the School of Computer Science.
Dr Peter Apoefis from the School of Chemistry & Physics won General Staff Member Award, and the equal runners-up were Ms Lena Mastrogiacomo and Ms Kankana McPherson, both from the Office of Industry Liaison.
The Departmental Award went to the Discipline of Pharmacology, and was accepted by Professor Jason White. The runner-up was the Discipline of Public Health, and was accepted by Professor Janet Hiller.
The
winners were chosen from the many nominations submitted to the judging
panel. The judging panel comprised:
- Ms Anne Witt,
administrator in the Adelaide Graduate Centre,
- Ms Vicki McCoy, student Education and Welfare Officer from the Adelaide University Union (AUU), and
- Mr Rikki Wilde, a former President and Vice-President of the AUPGSA, and
current Masters candidate.

- the postgraduate students who nominated candidates for their efforts,
- the AUPGSA Councillors, and AUPGSA office assistant Mariam Ghabriel, for organising the event, and
- all who attended the event.
