Scholarship Winners
Eleven University of Adelaide students have received a Prime Minister's Australia Asia Scholarship.

Undergraduate Recipients

Enrolment at University of Adelaide: Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of International Studies/Diploma of Languages (Japanese)
Scholarship undertaken in 2010-11 at Osaka University, Japan, studying international and human rights law, with instruction in Japanese.
Internships: Japan Institute of International Affairs (6 months) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Tokyo Office Protection Unit (5 months).

Scholarship undertaken in 2012 at University of Hong Kong, studying physics, computation and applied mathematics, and Chinese.
Internships: Centre for Theoretical and Computational Physics at HKU, and with a scientific equipment and technology company in Hong Kong.

Scholarship undertaken in 2011-12 at Nagoya University, Japan, undertaking guided independent study supported by coursework (language and culture, structural frameworks and monetary policy).
Internship: Asia Development Bank Institute, in Tokyo.

Scholarship undertaken in 2010-11 at the Institute of Chinese Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, researching traditional Chinese medicine and the effects on bone cancer.
Internships: visiting researcher at various Institutes in Tokyo, Japan, looking at traditional Japanese Kampo medicines and its applications into the clinic.

Scholarship undertaken in 2011 at Osaka University, Japan, researching a novel microscopic imaging system using the relatively unexplored portion of the electromagnetic spectrum: terahertz radiation.

Scholarship undertaken in 2011-12 at Harbin Institute of Technology, China, researching the optimisation of urban water infrastructure in the Chinese context, plus Mandarin language study.
Internships: water resource development/management organisations (both Chinese Government departments and NGOs).
