Notification of Absence Policy (Unrevised)
Overview:
In order for the University to function effectively, meet its strategic objectives, protect its interests and meet its obligations to its employees, the University must ensure that staff members maintain a presence at their normal workplace. Therefore, the University places an obligation on its academic and general staff to advise their supervisor of their on/off campus work programme or activities and any associated absences. This policy outlines the notification required by employees who will be absent, where approval has not been granted via any specific University scheme.
Note:
This policy was approved by the Executive Director, Student and Staff Services. As from 1 January 2007, the Vice-President (Services and Resources) is responsible for this policy.
